By any definition, the escape plan was a mess.
Oh, all the ingredients for success were nominally in place. But it was like a stew of undercooked vegetables, overripe fruit, things not recognizably edible (let alone organic) at all…
It was a wonder they even made it to the gate.
The irony: they all worked in the prison kitchen, and the meal they’d just prepared before making a run for it was a spectacularly bad stew of indigestible foodstuffs. If the guards hadn’t gotten to the “escapees” first, the mob of outraged inmates would have never let them leave anyhow.
